A group representing a coalition of 14 national organizations held a congressional briefing on legislation to establish a National Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission to coordinate events that would be held over the next four years to celebrate the one-hundred-fiftieth anniversary of the American Civil War. They responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.

The briefing for members of Congress, their staff, and the press was held in the Congressional South Conference Room of the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center. close
