Members of the Commission on Security & Cooperation in Europe heard testimony from leaders of the Serbian opposition movement about the political unrest and protests. The protests occurred after President Milosevic, and then the Supreme Court, disallowed recent election results in the capital, Belgrade, in which opposition candidates won. Witnesses testified about their activities, including trying to tell people outside the capital about the protests, and urged the U.S. to put pressure on President Milosevic to release his control over most of the national media. close
