Tennessee Republican Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander spoke to reporters about “fiscal cliff” impending tax increases and budget cuts at the end of 2012 if Congress cannot reach a new budget agreement. Senator Alexander predicted that congressional leaders and President Obama would find a compromise over the weekend. Senator Corker among his comments said the real fiscal cliff was Medicare. He talked about his bill to reduce Medicare spending by $1 trillion as part of a larger budget deal.
