Senator Hillary Clinton was interviewed by former correspondent Jane Pauley at the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium. Topics included Senator Clinton’s thoughts on becoming a presidential candidate, the new Medicare drug benefit, and political developments in the Middle East such as the recent victory of Hamas in elections held by Palestinians. In discussing the efforts to recover from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Senator Clinton suggested that a “deliberate policy of neglect” was being implemented by the Bush administration to discourage Democratic voters from returning to New Orleans.
