Senator Lamar Alexander spoke about energy policy and his proposal for the creation of 100 new nuclear plants in 20 years. In his remarks he said that legislation to impose mandatory reductions in greenhouse gas emissions “needs to be junked,” and that altering the measure to add incentives for more nuclear power would not be enough to win his support. Following his remarks he answered questions from reporters in the audience. close
