The Senate resumed consideration of the motion to proceed to S 2230, the Paying a Fair Share bill, which proposes to set a minimum tax rate for high-income taxpayers. This rule is popularly known as the “Buffett Rule.”

At 4:30 p.m. the Senate proceeded to executive session to consider the nomination of Stephanie Dawn Thacker of West Virginia to be a U.S. Circuit Judge for the Fourth Circuit.

At about 5:30 p.m. the Senate took roll call votes on the Thacker nomination, followed by cloture on the motion to proceed to S. 2230. close
