Stephanie Sanok Kostro talked about the security of the United States. She talked about two recent congressional hearings that focused on the issue. Earlier in the week a confirmation hearing was held for Jeh Johnson, President Obama’s nominee for Homeland Security Secretary, and Senate committee hearing was held on national security threats. Video clips were shown of those hearing and Ms. Kostro talked about her perspective on Jeh Johnson and the level of protection the United States has against foreign and domestic terrorist threats. Topics included tracking overseas travel, the structure of the Homeland Security Department, emergency response, immigration, and border control. She responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.

The program concluded with a video clip from the C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) stop on their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Ann Arbor, Michigan. close
