Lieutenant General David Barno, the commanding general in Afghanistan, discussed security in Afghanistan. Topics included the military strategy, reconstruction, relations with Pakistan, the different strategies for combating warlords, militia, and drugs besides combating terrorists, and the enemy strategy of attacking vulnerable targets such as the U.N. and NGO workers as well as attacking to discredit the Afghan government. After his presentation he responded to questions from members of the audience. close
