Secretary Jeh Johnson testified at a hearing on the Homeland Security Department’s budget request for fiscal year 2017. His department proposed a decrease in funding from fiscal year 2016 and an increase in fees collected on behalf of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which screens passengers entering airports. Questions from senators addressed that proposed funding cut, as well as other programs under its jurisdiction including the Coast Guard, Secret Service, and disaster mitigation grants. close
