At the annual security threat hearing, heads of intelligence agencies reported on potential future threats to the national security. They talked about the preventive measures being used to defend against these threats and the need for multi-lingual personnel. Topics included detainee interrogation, counter-terrorism efforts, the threat from Iran, and the situation along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

The committee met to hear further testimony in closed session in the afternoon.

These agency heads testified before the Senate Select Intelligence Committee on February 5. close
