Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, in advance of President Obama’s trip to Brazil, spoke about relations with Latin America, saying that strong ties with the region are important to U.S. long-term interests. In her remarks she also stated that Latin America should serve as a model for how to establish democratic governance.
