Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius testified about heath care issues in the U.S. She also appeared as President Obama’s nominee to be secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services although the committee would not make the formal recommendation on confirmation to the Senate. Among the topics addressed were using a fast-track budget procedure to pass a health care reform bill and creating a public insurance plan to compete with private insurers.
