In his book he tells the inside story of the world of hedge funds and the non-stop effort to make as much money as possible on the riskiest trades. He discussed who he calls the "It Boys" of 21st century capitalism with the U.S. managing editor of Financial Times newspaper, Gillian Tett.

Sebastian Mallaby is a columnist for the Washington Post and the director of the Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies and the Paul A. Volcker senior fellow for international economics at the Council on Foreign Relations. He was the bureau chief for The Economist magazine in Africa, Japan and Washington, D.C. He is also the author of The World's Banker and After Apartheid.
