The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) briefed reporters on the 2016 hurricane season outlook. They predicted the 2016 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June through November, would most likely be “near normal.” Their data predicted a 70 percent likelihood of 10 to 16 storms of which four to eight would become hurricanes, and one to four would likely become major hurricanes. The briefing was held at the at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, Maryland. close
