Scott Gant talked about his book, We’re All Journalists Now: The Transformation of the Press and Reshaping of the Law in the Internet Age, published by Free Press. He disputed the traditional definition of the term “journalist” and argued that it needs to be broadened in the Internet age. He said that bloggers follow in the tradition of Thomas Paine and other early pamphleteers and that they should be afforded the same legal rights and privileges as professional journalists. The guest interviewer was Peter Prichard.

Scott Gant was formerly counsel for the New Republic. close
