Mr. Chappell and Mr. Hartz talked about science and environmental reporting. They discussed how different media cover those issues and the proper role for news media in covering those issues. Mr. Chappell and Mr. Hartz also gave advice to students in the audience on how their school newspapers could cover science and the environment during the question period following their discussion. The First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt has recently released a report on reporting on science.
