As part of the national conference, speakers talked about the topic, “Celebrating 20 Years of Collaboration to Make Schools Safe, Healthy and Drug-Free: Reflecting on the Past and Looking Ahead.” They talked about the roles of schools in individual and community preparedness efforts, school and community emergencies in the past decade including Columbine and September 11, and other issues. The role of the federal government in helping schools was covered.
