Following a visit to the Capitol Rotunda to pay respect to the late Rosa Parks, Senator Schumer spoke to reporters about the Judge Samuel Alito nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. He said that President Bush’s nomination would likely divide the nation, but said he would need to review Judge Alito’s 15 years of judicial opinions before making a decision. Following his remarks, Senator Schumer responded to questions and comments from the reporters. close
