Topics included food processing technology, recent incidents of contamination, the potential benefits of irradiation, and proposed changes to the Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The hearing was held in the wake of the largest recall in the history of the United States and increasing public concern about imported food. close
