At a meeting at the COMMERCE DEPARTMENT in Washington,DC,

The WHITE HOUSE COMMISSION ON AVIATION SAFETY AND SECURITY

heard testimony and opinions from family members of victims of air disasters since 1983 in the second open hearing by the commission.

President Clinton, created the commission, in July 1983 to review airport and airline security, aviation safety and modernization of airport traffic control.

They called on aviation officials to increase the speed of release of information on air crashes and its diligence in overseeing the safety of U.S. airlines. close
