Government officials from the State and Defense Departments and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) testified on U.S. strategy in Iraq and the upcoming troop withdrawal transition period. Among the topics they addressed were the timetable for withdrawal by December 31st, 2011, as well as challenges posed by the transition to civilian leadership.
