New York Times Chief Correspondent R.W. Apple spoke about the foreign policy opportunities and challenges presented by the end of the Cold War. He said that a post Cold War perspective will allow different views on the developing world, alternative ways to spend money formerly spent on weapons and a period to ponder the rationale for U.S. foreign policy. He also warned of isolationist sentiment in times of peace and economic prosperity. He also took questions from the audience. close
