AIDS activists and researchers discussed the current state of AIDS research and infection in the U.S. They also discussed new figures from the Centers for Disease Control on AIDS mortality. Slides were shown to illustrate the figures on exposure to AIDS and the number of cases among Americans and among different categories of Americans. Dr. Gayle explained why there is a decline in AIDS deaths in the United States. Following the individual presentations, panelists took questions from the press. close
