Two members of the U.S. military, who served in the U.S. relief effort in Somalia, spoke to a group of reporters at the National Press Club. They were joined by administrators of U.S. aid organizations to call for reforms in the nation’s foreign policy concerning humanitarian aid for famine-plagued countries. The marines discussed their experiences in Somalia, where the U.S. intervened earlier in the year to provide humanitarian aid for the starving population. close
