Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Colombian Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez Merizalde spoke to reporters and answered questions following a meeting at the State Department. They said the two countries expected to sign a defense cooperation agreement that will boost their longstanding military ties. The proposed agreement would give the US access to three Colombian air bases, two navy bases and two army bases. Foreign Minister Bermudez added that Colombia would be willing to enter similar agreements with other countries. close
