Retired Marine Corps General Anthony Zinni, former Commander-in-Chief of the U.S Central Command, testified about a terrorist attack against U.S Navy guided missile destroyer USS Cole, while in a Yemeni port for refueling. The attack left 17 sailors dead and several others injured. He said that the port in Yemen was the least objectionable of several studied in the region because others were either unsafe or too difficult to reach. He also said that U.S. forces would face greater threats of terrorist attacks in the future as terrorist organizations developed more sophisticated weapons and tatics. close
