Panelists discussed empowering African women and girls to participate in economic growth and promoting healthy lives through technology and job training. An African agriculture scientist focused on how women and girls wee crucial to tackling the issue of food insecurity. Then speakers detailed their companies' development projects. After closing remarks for the conference Anthony Hamilton sang.

“Public-Private Partnerships: Fostering Women’s Economic Participation and Promoting Healthy Lives through Technology and Training” was part of “Investing in Our Future at the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit,” the day-long “Spousal Program” at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts highlighting the role first spouses play and focused on the impact of investments in education, health, and public-private partnerships. It was part of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit held in Washington from August 4-6, 2014, to strengthen ties between U.S. and African leaders. close
