NASA scientists and researchers at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland unveiled the latest and most detailed photograph of the dwarf planet Pluto and showed off more images of Pluto and its moons. A video was shown of the scientists reacting to the arrival of the photographs. The pictures were taken by NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft the previous day as the craft approached Pluto, some three billion miles from Earth, after nine years of traveling. Data from the actual flyby, which had just happened, would not be received until that evening. close
