Brian Atwood, Administrator at the Agency for International Development, testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Africa, concerning the situation in Rwanda and the president’s efforts to encourage the international community to assist in the region. More than a million people are fleeing their homes in Rwanda following a civil war that left a new government in power. Relief workers say a thousand refugees are dying every day from cholera and other diseases. The president’s briefing is about ten minutes long. close
