Burt Solomon, author of FDR v. The Constitution: The Court-Packing Fight and the Triumph of Democracy (Walker and Company; January 6, 2009), talked about President Franklin Roosevelt’s plan to pack the U.S. Supreme Court following a series of rulings that negatively impacted the New Deal. Historic photographs were shown as Mr. Solomon talked about the political ramifications of the plan. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
