Representative Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD), the ranking member on the House Select Intelligence Committee, talked about the status of the al-Qaeda terrorist network’s threat to the U.S., and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. A previous day clip was shown of CIA Director David Petraeus' testimony before the committee in which he said that al-Qaida’s leadership has been driven underground but that its affiliates and sympathizers pose an increasingly dangerous threat to the U.S. Other topics included the bipartisan nature of the committee, the U.S. role in Libya and other areas of the world, and cyber security.
