Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts spoke about his role as chief justice, about how he assigns opinion writing to the Supreme Court justices, and his administrative duties as chief. He also spoke about the legacy of former Chief Justice William Rehnquist and the time he served as a law clerk to then Associate Justice William Rehnquist from 1980-1981. Chief Justice Roberts responded to questions from members of the audience.


The third annual Rehnquist Center Lecture was held in the Ares Auditorium of the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law.
