During his remarks at a banquet address to the United Nations Association of the USA about the United Nations' role in peacekeeping operations, Deputy Secretary Strobe Talbott spoke about the recent agreement by the parties involved in the Bosnian conflict to meet in Geneva the following week to begin formulating a framework for peace in the region. Deputy Secretary Talbott added that the United Nations still needs to work more efficiently in the future. After he departed, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for International Affairs George Ward answered audience questions. close
