A panel discussion was held on the legacy of Will Rogers. Mr. Yagoda wrote Will Rogers: A Biography, published by A.A. Knopf. Drawing on previously unavailable letters, his book is a major reconsideration of the great entertainer. Mr. May wrote The Big Tomorrow: Hollywood and the Politics of the American Way, published by University of Chicago Press. The book gives an overview of Hollywood from the 1930s through the 1950s and the relationship between politics and the popular arts. Mr. Carter had also written a biography of Will Rogers. Mr. Watson has had the experience of portraying Mr. Rogers around the country, which he demonstrated. After the discussion the panelists answered questions from members of the audience. close
