George Washington University celebrated the opening week of the Washington Nationals baseball team by presenting a program hosted by its Jackie Robinson Project.

Sharon Robinson, daughter of the late baseball star, informally discussed the life and legacy of the man who broke the American pastime’s color barrier and played a vital role as a community and social activist. Stephen Butler, professor of sociology and African American studies at Earlham College, talked about “Regarding Robinson: Context, Change, and Pushing the Envelope.” close
