North Korean Ambassador Han spoke about the situation on the Korean peninsula. He discussed diplomatic relationships with Western Europe, human rights, and nuclear issues. Ambassador Han also talked about tensions between the United States and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). There was no question and answer session after the ambassador’s prepared remarks.

Congressman Weldon explained the State Department’s request for the speech to be off the record. He also discussed meetings with North Korean officials and updates on the Six-Party talks.

This speech titled “Road to Peace in the Korean Peninsula” was an ICAS 2005 Fall Symposium Addendum, held at the United States House of Representatives Rayburn Office Building. close
