Richard Trumka spoke with reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast at the St. Regis Hotel. He discussed the state of the labor movement, including worker safety and actions by the Obama administration. He also discussed presidential politics. He talked about the endorsement process and said that the AFL-CIO would probably not make an endorsement by the Iowa caucuses or New Hampshire primary and that the Democratic race was still wide open and Vice President Joe Biden had time to join the field. He also criticized Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, saying his views on immigration were dangerous, un-American, and racist. close
