Yossi Sheffi talked about his book, The Resilient Enterprise: Overcoming Vulnerability for Competitive Advantage, published by MIT Press. The book is a look at how companies large and small prepare for disasters and disruptions and how they handle those events once they happen. Professor Sheffi wrote that the preparations made by a company before a disaster are far more beneficial and important than those adjustments and responses made during or after a disaster. He also wrote about the similar effects such events have on companies ranging from family small businesses to major international corporations. Using charts and graphs, Professor Sheffi spoke about topics including possible misfortunes and resilience of companies. Following his presentation, he responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
