House Republican leaders spoke to reporters about the status of negotiations with President Obama to avoid the “fiscal cliff” of impending tax increases and budget cuts that would take effect at the end of 2012 if Congress failed to reach a new budget agreement. Speaker Boehner said that he was ready to moved on a “Plan B” proposal that would allow tax cuts to expire for people making over $1 million per year and keep current tax rates for everyone else.
