A roundtable discussion was held about the war in Iraq and what it was like for journalists to cover it. Topics included how the situation and atmosphere changed over time. Ms. Amos moderated the discussion. Mr. Hoyt read excerpts from the book. The panelists responded to questions from members of the audience.

This event was held at Columbia University’s School of Journalism by Columbia Journalism Review in celebration of the publication of its book, Reporting Iraq: An Oral History of the War by the Journalists Who Covered It, published by Melville House Publishing. Michael Hoyt was a co-editor of the book. Ali Fadhil, a documentary producer, and journalists Deborah Amos (NPR), Anne Barnard (New York Times/Boston Globe), and Elizabeth Palmer (CBS) were contributors to the book. close
