Former Secretary Baker and Former Representative Hamilton testified about the report of the Iraq Study Group on its bipartisan effort to rethink military and political options in Iraq. Among the topics they addressed were the level of military deployments in the country, potential ability of the Iraqi government to assume security responsibilities, possible new missions for the U.S. military in the region, and the need to engage regional powers in alleviating tensions in both Iraq and surrounding areas.
