Several members of Congress have called for a major reorganization of the nation’s intelligence agencies. They cited the dramatic changes that have taken place in the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, and other regions as the reason to re-think America’s intelligence strategies. In a Joint Meeting of the House Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, CIA Director Robert Gates gave his views on the issue of reorganization as testimony for the joint committee.
