Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trade Commission, delivered the keynote address at a George Washington University Law School conference on the government's response to the financial crisis. He called for comprehensive reform of the financial industry and over-the-counter derivatives. He also talked about the recent passage of legislation in the House Agriculture and Financial Services Committees on derivatives, but said these bills can both be improved.
