President Bush talked about the importance of free trade and focused on North Korea’s nuclear weapons program in a speech at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre Theater. He also emphasized regional security and efforts to combat terrorism. 

This was the first stop of his eight-day, three-nation Asian trip, including an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam the next day.
