Robert Litwak talked about his book Regime Change: U.S. Strategy Through the Prism of 9/11, published by The Johns Hopkins University Press. He compared the strategies of countering the dangers of weapons proliferation and state-sponsored terrorism by toppling regimes or by promoting change in the threatening behavior of their leaders. Mr. Litwak used the examples of Libya and Iraq to assess how the U.S. might effectively deal with countries like Iran and North Korea. He was then joined in discussion by Mitchell Reiss, former director of policy planning for the Department of State under Secretary Colin Powell. After their discussion they responded to audience members' questions. close
