Members of the first panel talked about the difficulties that Iraqi refugees face. One refugee, who is now in the U.S. and asked not to be identified, told of her more than two year struggle to obtain a visa. Other panelists discussed topics such as food, medicine, and housing.

Members of the second panel described their experiences in trying to help refugees. Ambassadors from Jordan and Syria answered questions about the refugee situation in their respective countries. Jordan and Syria have the most Iraqi refugees.

“The Iraqi Refugee Crisis: Law, Policy and Practice” was the subject of the Second Annual Matthew J. Ryan Forum on Law and Public Policy. close
