Conferees from the House and Senate commerce committees debated the differences between the House and Senate versions of the Telecommunications Reform Act of 1995. Both bills are designed to deregulate the industry by allowing cable and telephone companies to begin operations in each other’s markets. This meeting consisted of opening statements by several of the conferees.
