Mr. Mark talked about congressional politics, presidential politics, and the California governor recall effort. He said that the Democrats were unlikely to retake the U.S. House of Representatives due to redistricting which protected incumbents and reduced the number of competitive congressional districts. He also discussed President Bush’s re-election strategy and the effects of campaign finance reform on the 2004 election. Mr. Mark responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail.
