A panel discussion was held on women presidents and the challenges they face as candidates and chief commanders in countries around the world. The panelists included two former campaign managers of women's presidential campaigns. Topics included a historical analysis of women who have run in the United States, beginning in 1872, and whether the country is ready to elect a woman president in 2008.
This event was held at the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum in conjunction with the launch of the National Women's History Museum's cyberexhibit "First But Not Last: Women Who Ran for President."
