Archivist Laura McLemore gave a tour of the Archives and Special Collections in Noel Memorial Library at the Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She showed some of the featured collections in the library including the photo collections of the Army Corps of Engineers clearing of the Red River in the 1800s so it could flow into the Mississippi and the Caddo Lake oil wells that tell the story of the oil industry’s beginning uses of over-water oil wells in the early 1900s.
